Old Salem Brick was founded in 1890 by George Pierpont in Salem Virginia, who owned and operated it until 1923, when his Chief Engineer, Henry Garden Jr., bought the company. The name was changed to Old Virginia Brick, which was a trading name for their Wood Moulded Brick. The Salem Plant has operated on the same site continuously, except during World War II. Commercial and residential brick products from Old Virginia include Wood Moulded Brick, Wood Moulded Pavers, Extruded Brick, and Shapes and Arches.

For three generations, Owensboro Brick has made brick. It’s this sole dedication to brick manufacturing that has enabled them to keep a tradition of making beautiful and durable brick throughout the years. Present ownership dates back to the 1920’s, when William N. Richard Sr. acquired a brick company in Rockport, Indiana. In 1954, his sons purchased the Owensboro, Kentucky plant. Owensboro brick products are available for residential and commercial projects such as apartments, office buildings, hospitals, churches, and schools.
